from 1972 photo by Mr. John Poulter * As of today no in-progress books of poems remain in this journal. See "All About Me". Of the 13 books, one is a double chapbook: Autobio Poems; three: This Day's Poem, Prayers in December, Seminary are chapbooks; and one: my hometown lyric narrative Fond du Lac could be a chapbook if it were published on paper. Rooted Sky 2007, originally published in 1972 as Rooted Sky, is some places called a chapbook but I've always thought of it as a book. - Other books are Justan Tamarind, Postures 2007, June 2007, Sets, The Undulant Trees, and Venturings. - Then there is the opus: 1976: in 2006, originally published as 1976--366 sonnets and 12 reflections-- in the cassette medium. Presently 352 sonnets and no reflections, even if it were published with two sonnets on each page, would be a substantial traditional book. - * John Poulter was an inmate at the Wisconsin Men's Penitentiary in Waupun, Wisconsin that year. - Brian A. sw00885d29--crowded-day-yesterday
Yesterday began with a necessary fasting after which on a yellow legal pad I started rough-drafting my heuristically-created paired twin primes proof for finding them. About 9:30 my sister arrived to transport me to see a lawyer regarding important death-related matters. My sister had an appointment to see him today, but he provided services for both of us. Our experiences with him were brief but pleasant and definitely educational. Then it was on to an outpatient clinic where I was given a not- so-pleasant (mostly due to my broken nose and broken back and gag response) esophageal manometry exam. Next it was north to a supercenter for groceries and other items. On the way to my apartment we did the Wendy's windows tour for a nearly plain hamburger--their burgers are square and thin now--for me. Got to apt around 5:30. Later I returned to my math project. Not sure when it will be finished to my satisfaction. - Brian A. J. Salchert 2008-05-13

sw00614piks-ghost
tissue ghost 0004 photograph of a found object click to enlarge ===================================================== The original of this happened on the restroom floor off the den (small bedroom) of a mo-ho I used to own and was residing in. I had been doing some cleanup work. It was not enjoyable. I crumpled up the last of the tissue I was using, and threw it on the floor. I was so startled by the result, I decided to keep it. That was when I was in Gainesville, Florida. I took some pictures of it, none of which turned out as well as I had hoped. As can be seen, I found a way to slip a thin sheet of cardboard under it. I put it in a safe place. I brought it with me in 2006 when I moved to southwest Missouri. I plan to photograph it again. I have cared for it as though it were an angelic horribly disfigured child, its head wrapped in gauze bandages. One of my impressions of it is/ that it represents aspects of my spirit. ===================================================== Brian A. J. Salchert

In January of 2007, Springfield, MO, endured a horrid ice storm. Above are 3 photos. The bottom one shows trees under ice. Warmer days allowed these trees to green and bloom. To see an enlarged picture, click the one here. Brian A. J. Salchert
